Another One

This is another one of those, "Hey Look at What My Darling Daughter Did" posts.

As I've mentioned before, Gretchen is very helpful around the house. Franklin is at an independent stage where he doesn't have to listen (says he) to what Mom & Dad ask him to do. But Gretchen is eager to please. If I say, "Gretchen, Sweetie, bring Daddy that book, please," she'll pick it right up and bring it over.

She rode the stroller into the apartment last night, and immediately requested that she be helped to her feet so that she could look around the house for stuff to do. She did this for a few minutes as Leica was fed. Sensing an opportunity, Gretchen stood behind Leica and waited for him to finish eating. As soon as all was clear, she snatched the bowl from its spot next to the fridge and deposited it in the kitchen sink after which she emerged to great applause from her parents.

It's moments like this that make it easy to overlook the fact that she puked raisins all over my pillow last night and tossed her cookies on it the night before.
