Ok, remember, 2.2 pounds to a kilo. If it's cheese, or baby, or cocaine. A kilo's a kilo from Schenectady to Hilo. If you want to go the other way, you have to multiply by 0.45. There's a calculator in your start menu (Start/All Programs/Accessories). There, you don't have to go searching.
Our little girl was 3.6 on Saturday evening. I don't know what she is now, but she's on mother's milk for what it's worth. She sure looks bigger to me, as I've been up close and personal. She smells niiiiiiice. I talked to her a bit and she fell asleep as comfortable as you please.
Franklin was 4.1kg, which is, as I learned in third grade, 500g heavier. He was a big fella. By way of comparison, the other babies in the nursery at the clinic had birth weights listed between 2400 and 2600 grams. My first impression of Gretchen was that she looked a little small. Hmm. Papa needs a paradigm adjustment.
Franklin is now up to 13.2kg as his edges closer to his 2nd birthday (12/15) and can reach the down button outside the elevator as well as a handful inside. Yesterday evening we stopped by the clinic to see the girls, and as soon as he got down from his car seat, he walked straight to the front doors, stopping only to say "Christmas Tree" at the coffee shop next door. He went in the door and strolled straight back to the elevator, leading his father the whole way. At that point, he wanted to be lifted so up he came, in we went, and to the third floor we ascended to see mei-mei.
He changed his mind and wanted to see mommy. Up to six. Nope, wanna see mei-mei, back down to three. This time we were joined in the elevator by a wicked mother whom Maggie and I had seen smoking outside the office a month and a half before. She did not look as if she was in a tender let's celebrate the miracle of life mood. I said congratulations to her in Taiwanese and she snorted at me and commented that my son, so big, was still wearing diapers. I guess Franklin is the size of a four year old boy with fetal nicotine poisoning.
He's a big fella. He was 54cm at birth, and I think he's over 90 now. Gretchen was 53cm. You know what that means, she's going to be tall and slender like her Daddy. Lucky Girl.
