I found my good dictionary and looked up the characters that needed looking up. And we've decided that Gretchen should be 把欣祐 (Ba3 Xin1-you4). This xin means "Joyful" and you means "divine help." When I read the two words together, I thought back to the lyrics of "Althea" and felt that this was a suitable name.
If you can't read the Chinese in the above paragraph for whatever reason, you ... well, I can't promise you'll be able to read it in the picture below, either. You ought to be able to at least see her name, however.

Looking at this particular picture reminds me of a joke that was told with certain gestures when I was in early elementary school: My mother was Japanese (fingers pull sides of the eyes up), my father was Chinese (fingers pull eyes down), and I am somewhere in between (one eye up, one eye down.)
The other one I liked, right along the same lines: Chinese, Japanese, Dirty Knees, Look at These! BOOBIES! I can't recall exactly how the gestures went with this one. Use your wicked imaginations.
Thank you, I'll be here all week!
